SOLVENT EXTRACTION LEACHING AID
Minerals are extracted from ores by dissolving them in a solution. This process, called leaching, can be done in different ways, such as by agitating the ore in a tank, stacking the ore on a heap and pouring the solution over it, or using bacteria to break down the ore. Solvent extraction is then used to purify the solution and concentrate the mineral. Finally, the mineral is electroplated onto a cathode to produce high-quality metal.
